It is used in automobiles that are able to pay tolls without stopping. It is widely used in the packaging and transport industries. It can be in your passport, your luggage, and your library books - maybe it's even in you. Although that last scenario is more the stuff of science fiction novels, radio frequency identification (RFID) is found in many places. But what is it and how does it become so widespread?
