BioOne is a unique aggregation of high-impact, bioscience research journals. As an innovative collaboration among scientific societies, libraries, academe and the commercial sector, BioOne is working to help transform the scholarly communication process by providing expanded access to scientific research results. BioOne provides integrated, cost-effective access to a thoroughly linked information resource of interrelated journals focused on the biological, ecological and environmental sciences. Thus BioOne represents a core resource for any college or university library supporting undergraduate or advanced studies in the biosciences, and for organizations engaged in research and development. Currently, there are more than 29
journals in the BioOne.2 collection.
There are two ways to access the database: Search the bibliographic records (indexed summaries or abstracts) for, for example, key subject words or an author, review the abstract and then link to the full-text paper; every bibliographic record links to the appropriate full-text in both PDF and HTML formats. The other method is to browse the list of journals, select the journal of interest and view the tables of contents. From there, one can link from the article title to a bibliographic record or directly to the full-text of the paper.
