OCUL Selects CSA Interface
OCUL will also archive CSA databases
BETHESDA , Maryland , USA (27 February 2006) -- OCUL (Ontario Council of University Libraries) has selected the CSA Illumina platform to serve as the basis of its new Scholars Portal (SP) Search service. Moreover, OCUL will serve as a permanent archive for bibliographic databases published by CSA.
SP Search provides a single interface through which all electronic information resources made available by OCUL will be delivered. OCUL will use a version of the CSA Illumina platform as the platform for the service, rebranded with the "SP Search" name. OCUL will create filters to ensure that all its electronic subscriptions are compatible with the new SP Search service.
SP Search will also make all the bibliographic databases published by CSA available to OCUL users. In addition, CSA will create a permanent archive of its bibliographic publications on the OCUL site.
"CSA has long enjoyed strong ties with the University of Toronto and the entire OCUL consortium," said Matt Dunie, President of CSA. "We are deeply honored that they chose the CSA Illumina platform as the underlying structure for SP Search. And we are grateful that they will serve as a host for the archive of CSA's publications."
The Scholars Portal services are operated by the University of Toronto Libraries on behalf of the Ontario Council of University Libraries. "We are very pleased to offer our users the functionality and services available through the CSA Illumina platform," said Peter Clinton , Director, Information Technology Services, University of Toronto Libraries. "Every day we find more reasons why this was a great decision."
