New Psychology and Education Collections From SAGE Available on IDS
New collections provide Web-based access to nearly 50 fulltext journals
BETHESDA, Maryland, USA (15 July 2004) -- Collections of electronic fulltext journals in education and psychology published by SAGE Publications are now available through the Internet Database Service (IDS) from CSA.
“We are excited to add education and psychology titles to the SAGEFull-Text Collections,” said SAGE Executive Vice President Blaise Simqu. “The SAGE Full-Text Collections are excellent research tools for students and faculty members, and we expect that these new Collections will be welcome additions to many college and university libraries.”
“We are thrilled to be able to offer these collection on IDS,” said Matt Dunie, president of CSA. “These are some of the preeminent journals in psychology and education. They are also a perfect complement to a number of the bibliographic databases available through our service.”
Four other collections of journals in communication studies, criminology, politics and international relations, and sociology published by SAGE Publications are also available on IDS. In addition, the platform hosts a number of bibliographic databases in the areas of education and psychology including ERIC from the U.S. Department of Education and PsycINFO published by the American Psychological Association.
The two new collections add more than 700,000 pages to the existing 1,173,375 pages in the SAGE Full-Text Collections. Each discipline's collection includes the most current issues, as well as back issues, usually going back 20 years. Included titles are among the most popular and most cited journals in their fields. A step beyond previous citations and abstracts databases, the SAGE Full-Text Collections gives users immediate electronic access to:
- Articles with illustrations, graphs, charts, and photographs
- Links from cited references to fulltext articles within the Collections
- Hypertext links from other databases to fulltext articles within the Collections
- Table of contents and articles of individual journals
- Basic and advanced search options, including thesaurus searching
- Enhanced display and printing capabilities
- A customizable service alerting users to new articles in a subject area
- Usage reports
