Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals Available on IDS

BETHESDA, Maryland, USA (22 April 2004) -- Researchers investigating any aspect of architecture can now get answers from the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, newly available on the Internet Database Service (IDS) from CSA.

The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals offers the most comprehensive listing of journal articles on architecture and design. The database includes bibliographic descriptions and indexes on subjects such as the history and practice of architecture, landscape architecture, city planning, historic preservation, and interior design and decoration. It contains nearly five hundred thousand entries surveying more than seven hundred American and international journals.

This valuable research tool covers not only the international scholarly and popular periodical literature, but also the publications of professional associations, American state and regional periodicals, and the major serial publications on architecture and design of Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. It also features obituary citations providing architects, architectural historians, and researchers with an excellent source of biographical and professional information about architects. Recently it has incorporated records of the Burnham Index of Architectural Literature from the Art Institute of Chicago.

The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals joins other significant art and design databases available through IDS including ARTbibliographies Modern and Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI).

CSA is offering complimentary trial access to the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals. To request a trial, send e-mail to sales@csa.com or sign up at www.csa.com.
