New Bibliography Tool Added to CSA’s Internet Database Service

BETHESDA, Maryland, USA (15 July 2004) -- Researchers using the Internet Database Service (IDS) from CSA can now use the new QuikBib tool to easily generate a bibliography from their search results. QuikBib takes search results from bibliographic databases and formats the citation information into bibliographies. Moreover, QuikBib gives the user a choice of a number of different bibliographic styles and output options.

“Users who don’t already have a bibliographic management tool in place will find QuikBib invaluable,” said Matt Dunie, president of CSA. “It is another example of the way we constantly respond to user feedback to improve and add value to the IDS platform.”

The QuikBib tool was developed in conjunction with RefWorks who offer their own complete Web-based bibliographic management tool. The QuikBib service was added to IDS in early June, and it is available to subscribers at no additional cost.

QuikBib allows users to generate bibliographies in the following styles:

  • AMA - American Medical Association, 9 th Edition
  • APA - American Psychological Association, 5 th Edition
  • APA, Annotated with Abstracts - American Psychological Association, 5 th Edition
  • Chicago, 15 th Edition (Author-Date System)
  • MLA, 6 th Edition
  • MLA, 6 th Edition - with subscriber information
  • Turabian (Reference List), 6 th Edition
  • Uniform - Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals
