Founded in 1758 by Edmund Burke, The Annual Register has been in consecutive publication for 243 years. Each edition includes an overview of the year's developments by country and regional/international organization, as well as a detailed analysis of the impact of world events on the environment, the arts, science, law, religion, and sport. Each volume also contains maps, statistical documents, a day-by-day chronicle of the year's major events, and a comprehensive list of obituaries.
